Enriching the World of Live Theare

Fia first began work as an overhire through IATSE Local 574 in 2021, working up to union member status in early 2024. Design work began in 2022 at Guilford Technical Community College, where Fia designed sound, lights, and costumes for several theatrical productions, and received a community service award for volunteer work with the program. Not long after, Fia began technical design for community theatres in and around Greensboro.

Most recently, Fia has engineered several shows at Lee St Theatre, as well as for the band SunQueen and the Soular Flares. Recent design credits include Piedmont Players’ Wrinkle in Time (sound) and Eli Motley’s Café 808 (lighting). Other recent credits include Local Head Audio (The Outsiders at The Tanger Center), Local A2 (The Wiz at Tanger), A1 (Murder on the Orient Express with Piedmont Players), and Local Dresser #4 (A Beautiful Noise at Tanger).

Fia can currently be found designing sound for Piedmont Players’ production of Calendar Girls and working the fifth Broadway season at the Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts, where Fia is often assistant or head audio. Fia is excited to see all that the new season brings—and beyond that, where the industry leads next, be it near or far from home!

Fun Fact: When not jumping from show to show, Fia enjoys spending time snuggling with three pet rabbits and composing original music. Other interests include writing, fiber arts, and animal rescue.
